MARGARITAVILLE VACATION RESIDENCE, MYRTLE BEACH, FLORIDA
Designed by Davenport Consulting Group (DCG) under the leadership of David B. Portwood Sr., Principal in Charge, and Sean Palmer, Vice President, Margaritaville Vacation Residences Myrtle Beach represents a thoughtful fusion of contemporary coastal architecture and lifestyle-driven design. As the first new coastal condominium offering in Myrtle Beach in more than a decade, the project reimagines the traditional resort residential experience through a carefully curated balance of community, relaxation, and vibrant energy.

Comprising 295 fully furnished one-, two-, and three-bedroom condominium residences, the architectural vision prioritizes both functionality and atmosphere, creating an environment where indoor and outdoor living seamlessly converge. The building’s positioning within walking distance of the Atlantic shoreline informed a design strategy centered around openness, natural light, and fluid transitions between private residences and shared amenity spaces.

DCG approached the project with a placemaking philosophy that emphasizes experiential movement throughout the property. The arrival sequence, lobby environments, and curated social spaces were conceived to foster connection while maintaining a sense of retreat. Architectural elements frame expansive views and maximize accessibility to resort amenities, including an expansive pool deck, sundeck, private cabanas, and outdoor gathering areas anchored by fire features and tropical-inspired structures such as the Chickee Hut bar.
Beyond aesthetics, the architectural planning integrates lifestyle flexibility, supporting both owner occupancy and rental management opportunities, while ensuring the development remains cohesive with Myrtle Beach’s evolving coastal identity. Wellness and social engagement are embedded into the design through a fully equipped fitness center, communal spaces that encourage interaction, and circulation patterns that support a resort-style living experience.

Margaritaville Vacation Residences Myrtle Beach reflects DCG’s commitment to designing environments that go beyond structure, creating destinations where architecture enhances experience, community, and long-term value. With Building One and its full suite of amenities anticipated for completion by mid-2027, the project stands as a landmark addition to the Myrtle Beach skyline and a forward-looking example of modern coastal residential architecture.
